Celebrating 10 Years of Fitness, Friendship and Fun

Busselton Masters Turns 10!

This year, the Busselton Masters Swimming Club proudly celebrates a decade of swimming, community, and connection. From humble beginnings, our club has grown into a vibrant and supportive space where swimmers of all backgrounds and abilities come together to share a love of the water.

On Sunday 23rd March, over 85 past and present members gathered at Shelter Brewing Co. to honour our 10-year journey. It was an afternoon filled with stories, laughter, and a deep sense of belonging.

A highlight of the event was a powerful address from Lesley “Cherry” Meaney—Rottnest Channel Swim Life Member and Hall of Fame Legend—who spoke about the roots of Masters Swimming in Australia and celebrated our club’s commitment to what matters most: fitness. friendship, and fun.

Founding President Darryl Kelly took us back to the early days, sharing how Busselton Masters came to life, while current President Richard George acknowledged the dedication of our foundation members, coaches, and committee—all of whom have helped shape the heart of the club.

As we dive into the next chapter, one thing is clear: Busselton Masters is more than just a swim club. It’s a community. A place to laugh, train, belong—and maybe share a post-swim coffee or two.

Here’s to the next 10 years! 💙🏊‍♀️
